Shirdi Shri Sai Baba, a mystic saint is worshiped by people around the world. Shirdi is a place is about 250 kms East of India.
He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and Gurus. One of his well known epigrams,"Sabka Malik Ek ", is very well known to all his devotees and it means One God Governs All. Sai Baba opposed all persecution based on religion or caste. He was an opponent of religious orthodoxy. Shri Sai Baba philosophy ingrained 'Shraddha' meaning faith and 'Saburi' meaning patience. According to him, the two philosophies were only the supreme attributes to reach the state of godliness.
Shri Sai Baba's real name is unknown. The name "Sai" was given to him upon his arrival at Shirdi, a town in the western part of India ( State : Maharashtra ), by Mhalsapati, a devotee of Kandoba Raya. “SAI” is of Sanskrit origin, meaning "Sakshat Eshwar" or the divine. And "Baba" means "father”. Thus Shri Sai Baba denotes "holy father" or "saintly father".
There are numerous holy SAI temples built all over the country by his devotees. Among these one of the well known temples of Shri Sai Baba is situated in Nagpur at Vivekanand Nagar, Wardha Road, Nagpur. There are innumerable devotees, believers and followers of Shri Sai Baba, and the Nagpur temple is exact replica of the idol of Shri Sai Baba of Shridi. In fact, the same artisan who made the idol at Shirdi has made the idol at this holy temple at Nagpur.
